My Journey

From lawyer and financial planner to impact speaker — the story of a forced landing turned life mission.

Legal career → Desjardins (10+ years)

    The Lawyer and the Planner

A private practice lawyer for 5 years, then advisor and financial planner at Desjardins for over 10 years, Jean-François long operated in a world where performance, rigor, and excellence were part of daily life. From the outside, everything seemed fine. Until the warning lights started turning on.

Finding meaning in one's story to serve others

Mental health has been part of my story for a long time. Well before my own forced landing, I grew up in an environment where people rarely spoke about what was going on inside. As in many settings, silence was part of the norm.

Looking back, I realize how much this lack of dialogue can lead us to trivialize stress, ignore signals, and delay help that is actually available.

Today, I've chosen to give meaning to this journey by contributing to the conversation about psychological health in our organizations, institutions, and homes. Because behind the issues of performance, absenteeism, or distress, there are always people first.

Through my interventions, I offer a more lucid, more human, and more empowering perspective on these realities — with the very concrete hope of changing a trajectory, preventing the worst, and helping people act before the breaking point. When you find meaning in what you've been through, you can turn your story into a lever in service of others.
